How an over-stretched CMO can develop new strategies and upskill team members.

Global SaaS Marketing Strategy Workshop (A Jarther+ Case Study)

Here’s the challenge:

This Global Scale Up Software organisation needed to rapidly evolve its marketing strategy to support the sales team chasing State and Federal public sector clients in A/NZ.  The Marketing Director however, faced challenges with bandwidth capacity and a team member they wanted to upskill.

Jarther+ were engaged to support the marketing team in developing an integrated marketing strategy for the public sector, delivered as a combination of strategic thinking, marketing frameworks and team coaching.

Here’s our response:

To help reduce time to market, the Jarther+ team applied their collaborative 3-phase approach - Diagnose, Design, Deploy.

The Diagnose stage established the parameters of the plan, gather available market data, including target audience and competition, then define the market context for the plan. The Design stage took these inputs and developed a strategic approach to answer the key business questions while the  The Deploy phase shifted gears into the development of go-to-market campaign plan, key tactics and project roll out, as aligned to budget requirements.

More importantly, here are the impacts:

As Adjunct Professor for Marketing Management at AGSM at UNSW Business School, home of Australia's leading MBA, Jarther is able to provide a best practice perspective, succinctly synthesise ideas, and help team members apply frameworks into their daily marketing practice.

The workshop helped the team step out of the avalanche of the day-to-day and apply a strategic view. The resulting pitch was succinct, powerful and executive ready helping the ANZ team secure additional funding for their program.
